The Duff Law Firm consists of civil trial attorneys who have developed a recognized proficiency, and professional expertise, in the following areas of the law:
Family Law . . . Throughout the years, a significant amount of the firm's practice has been devoted to matters involving separation, divorce, custody and visitation, child and spousal support, as well as equitable distribution of marital assets. Although many of these issues are eventually resolved by way of a negotiated settlement agreement, the Firm often litigates such issues in both the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts, the Circuit Courts throughout the Northern Virginia Area, as well as appeals to the Virginia Appellate Courts.
Plaintiffs' Personal Injury . . . From its inception, the Firm has regularly represented individuals who have been injured through the conduct of others. The majority of such cases result from automobile accidents; however, we also handle cases involving slip-and-fall, defamation, assault and battery, as well as other intentional acts.
Legal Malpractice . . . Our law firm is one of only a few firms in Northern Virginia that handles a significant number of cases involving negligent representation by attorneys. We understand that lawyers are only human and, as such, are certainly capable of making mistakes. This Firm represents those clients who sustain losses, financially and otherwise, as a result of such mistakes by their lawyers.
Commercial Litigation . . . The Firm has had considerable experience in representing individuals and businesses in breach of contract litigation. This has involved disputes over real estate contracts, corporate matters, insurance policies, and copyright infringement, among other commercial issues. We have represented plaintiffs suing over such contracts, as well as defending those who have been the recipients of such lawsuits.
Criminal / Traffic . . . The firm often represents individuals charged with traffic offenses ranging from reckless driving to repeat DUIs, as well as criminal misdemeanors.
